Addressing the charges filed against him, Gandhi stated, "File as many cases as you can. File 25 more cases, I am not going to be intimidated.

Gandhi took aim at Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma, accusing him of obstructing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and suggesting that such actions only served to bring more attention and publicity to the yatra, making it a focal point in Assam.

Despite the impediments, large crowds gathered at Guwahati Chowk in Khanapara to welcome Rahul Gandhi with slogans and drum beats.

The police had set up barricades to prevent the Yatra from entering the city limits, leading to clashes with Congress workers who broke the barricades and raised slogans. 

Expressing his surprise, Gandhi stated, “This is strange because Rahul Gandhi cannot go there while everyone else can visit the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva. Will PM Modi now decide who will visit a temple and when?”

Speaking at a public gathering in Biswanath Chariali, Gandhi claimed that the BJP's actions are not intimidating the people, and he expressed confidence that the Congress will win by significant margins in the upcoming elections.

Gandhi emphasized that the Congress launched the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' to unite people and address their economic problems.

Sarma mentioned that commandos will be deployed along sensitive routes in minority-dominated areas that Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra plans to take on January 22.

While the magistrate's court granted condonation for the delay and accepted the written statement, a fine of Rs 500 was imposed, as confirmed by Iyer to PTI.

Gandhi expressed the Congress's commitment to returning resources such as water, land, and forests to the tribal communities.
