Rahul Gandhi Challenges Assam Police: Dares More FIRs, Asserts Unwavering Resolve Against Intimidation

Addressing the charges filed against him, Gandhi stated, "File as many cases as you can. File 25 more cases, I am not going to be intimidated.

A day after the Guwahati Police filed a case against him and other Congress leaders, Rahul Gandhi defiantly challenged the BJP-ruled state to file as many cases as it wants, asserting that he will not be intimidated. Speaking at his first public meeting during the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Barpeta district, Gandhi criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, labeling him the "most corrupt CM" in the country and making various allegations related to land and business.

Addressing the charges filed against him, Gandhi stated, "File as many cases as you can. File 25 more cases, I am not going to be intimidated. BJP-RSS can't intimidate me." The Guwahati Police had registered an FIR against Gandhi and other leaders for alleged acts of violence in the state capital.

Gandhi accused Sarma of corruption, alleging that while the Chief Minister speaks to the people, he engages in activities like land acquisition and supari business. He also claimed that Sarma is controlled by Amit Shah and asserted that Assam should be governed from within the state.

The Congress leader criticized the BJP-RSS for allegedly attempting to erase the language, culture, and history of Assam, emphasizing that Assam should be governed by the people of Assam. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Sarma of harboring hatred in their hearts and spreading fear and hatred.

Gandhi appealed to the people to use love to eradicate hatred and stressed that the fight is not against individuals but against the hatred in their hearts. He highlighted the success of the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in conveying that love works in India, contrary to the BJP-RSS's strategy of pitting one religion or language against another.

Gandhi also mentioned the ongoing issues in Manipur and criticized the Prime Minister for not visiting the state despite the turmoil. The 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,' led by Rahul Gandhi, began in Manipur on January 14 and is set to conclude on March 20 in Mumbai, covering various states and districts along the way.
