The CBI said that the supplementary charge sheet was filed before the District and Sessions Judge in Tripura's Gomati district against Rose Valley Real Estates and Construction Ltd (RVRECL), Kundu, and former Directors Shibamoy Dutta, Ashok Kumar Saha, and Ram Lal Goswami. A CBI spokesperson said that the investigation revealed that the accused had allegedly collected huge public funds amounting Rs 31.49 crore.

A CBI spokesperson said that the agency registered a case against Rashid Khan, the then officiating Postal Assistant in Ujjain, on a complaint from Senior Superintendent of Post Offices in Ujjain. He said that in the complaint it was alleged that during the period 2019 to 2020, Khan had forged withdrawal vouchers of six account holders of Mahidpur Sub Post Office and thereby fraudulently withdrawn the amount of Rs 13.41 lakh from their accounts, thereby causing a loss to the Post Office.

A CBI official related to probe told IANS, "Agency sleuths are carrying out searches at the premises of Crompton Greaves in Mumbai and Delhi in connection with a bank fraud case based on the complaint of the bank." The CBI also carried out searches at 14 locations including at Delhi NCR, Lucknow, Secunderabad and Kolkata which has led to the recovery of incriminating documents and digital evidence.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Praveen Sinha as the Special Director of CBI for a tenure up to his superannuation on April 30, 2022, from the date of assumption of charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the Department of Personnel and Training said. The post of Special Director is the second senior-most position in the CBI after the Director. The post was vacant for the last three years.

A CBI official said that the agency has filed a case against Thapar, Avantha Realty Limited, Oyster Buildwell Pvt Ltd, Raghubir Kumar Sharma, Rajendra Kumar Mangal, Tapsi Mahajan unknown officials of Jhabua Power Investment Limited, unknown officials of Jhabua Power Limited, unknown officials of Avantha Holdings Limited, unknown officials of Avantha Power and Infrastructure Limited and unknown public servants.

A CBI official said that the agency registered a case against Meena on the allegations of illicit enrichment to the tune of Rs 2.93 crore during December 2, 2016 to May 29, 2021. He said that the agency conducted searches at 13 locations in Bhopal, Vidisha, Khandwa, Jhabua, Narsingpur, Jabalpur, Nanded and Jalgaon including at the premises of contractors and private persons.

The Departments covered under the notification by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) include RAW, IB, DRI, CEIB, ED, NCB, ARC, Special Frontier Force, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, NSG, Assam Rifles, SSB, DG Income Tax (investigation), NTRO, FIU, SPG, DRDO, Border Road Development Organisation, NSC, CBI, NIA and Natgrid.

The Antigua Observer reported that Choksi is in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Dominica. Choksi was reported missing on Sunday from Antigua and Barbuda, where he had taken citizenship, sparking a manhunt for the fugitive businessman.

The Centre had forwarded a list of three senior IPS officers for the position- Subodh Jaiswal, YC Modi, and Rakesh Asthana. Modi and Asthana lost the race after CJI Ramana pointed out that no officer with less than six months to retirement can be appointed as police chief in view of the Supreme Court judgement in the Prakash Singh case of March 2019.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has, based on the panel recommended by the Committee, approved the appointment of Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, IPS, (Maharashtra 1985) as Director, CBI for a period of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the office or until further orders whichever is earlier."
