As of 4 pm on Monday, the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 356. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), the AQI is expected to enter the 'severe' category (AQI above 400) on Tuesday.

In terms of visibility, readings recorded at 5:30 am showed varying levels across different areas: Palam and Safdarjung in Delhi had readings of 200 and 500, respectively.

The IMD's forecast indicated that the maximum temperature for the day is expected to hover around 24 degrees Celsius, with a "partly cloudy sky."

However, fog disrupted visibility at Palam, reducing it to 350 meters at 5:30 a.m., impacting flight and train operations.

The weather conditions in Delhi were characterized by a partly cloudy sky and moderate fog, as per the IMD. At 8:30 am, IGI Palam (VIDP) and Safdarjung (VIDD) Airports were reported to have dense fog, with visibilities of 100 m and 300 m, respectively.
