In a Delhi horror case, three minors abducted a 15-year-old boy to demand a ransom of ₹10 lakh and killed him brutally.
The victim, Vaibhav Garg, was a Class 9 student who lived in Mukherjee Nagar. His father was a driver.
As per officials, a PCR call was made to Wazirabad Police Station on March 24 regarding the kidnapping and killing of the teenager, who had disappeared one day prior on March 23.
A case was then registered under FIR No. 135/25 U/s 137(2) BNS, and an immediate investigation was initiated.
The police found Vaibhav to be the last person he was with when the three teenagers, two of them 17 and one 16 years old, were together from CCTV footage and on a motorcycle near Jharoda Pushta Road. The footage was used to locate and arrest the suspects.
On March 23, a Sunday, the trio had taken Vaibhav on a bike ride and brought him to a secluded, wooded spot near Bhalswa Lake. There, they knifed him, killing him, and discarded his body and escaped.
On interrogation, the suspects admitted their premeditated kidnapping plan for ransom of Vaibhav. Having already committed their offence, they placed a call from the victim's own SIM to his father on March 24 and demanded a ransom of ₹10 lakh in return for releasing him.
Aggregating data from the information gathered from the suspects, Vaibhav's body was recovered by the Wazirabad police from where it was dumped.
The authorities have commenced requisite legal action against the accused children in retaliation for the heinous crime.
