While inspecting the newly inaugurated tunnel, Modi picked up an empty plastic water bottle and a few other items that had been thrown away. He was seeing the paintings made of the inner wall of the tunnel. Tweeting a video of this, Amit Malviya, the West Bengal BJP co-incharge said, "Commitment to cleanliness is an article of faith for the Prime Minister. Even at the inauguration of the ITPO tunnel, he made it a point to pick up garbage and lead by example."

The Prime Minister was speaking after dedicating the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor to the nation. He said, "In the last eight years, we have taken unprecedented steps to solve the problems of Delhi-NCR. Metro service in Delhi-NCR has expanded from 193 kms to 400 kms in the last eight years." The Prime Minister also appealed to people to use the metro for commuting. Modi congratulated the people of Delhi-NCR for receiving a beautiful gift of modern infrastructure from the Union government.

Satyendar Jain's custodial remand extended for 5 days in PMLA case

After hearing the argument, the court allowed the ED plea and extended the custodial remamd of Jain by five more days. The Enforcement Directorate had recently conducted raids at multiple locations belonging to Jain and his known persons, including relatives. A recovery of cash worth Rs 2.85 crore and 133 gold coins weighing 1.80 kg was made.

The two-day event will start with office-bearers meet on June 11 followed by executive meet on June 12. Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta told IANS that all the relevant political and social issues of the national capital will be discussed during the meeting. "Two senior leaders, one each in the inaugural and closing session of executive meeting on June 12, will give their guidance to the Delhi unit," Gupta said.

Assam CM gave PPE kits' contracts to kin during Covid, alleges Sisodia

Addressing a press conference, Sisodia said Sarma, the then health minister, had given contracts to firms of his wife and son's business partners to supply PPE kits above market rates in 2020. Referring to a media report, the Deputy CM said that while the Assam government procured PPE kits for Rs 600 a piece from other companies, Sarma gave urgent supply orders to the firms of his wife and son's business partners for Rs 990 a piece taking advantage of the emergency situation.
