The accused identified as Ruslan Petrov Metodiev (47) was printing FICN on his own and was supplying/circulating them to his receivers in Delhi/NCR. The police said that they have also recovered Rs 8 lakh, all in the denomination of Rs 500 notes, from the possession of the accused, who was residing at Palam.

India reports 27 Covid deaths in 24 hrs, highest in 6 months

The last time India recorded 20 or more Covid deaths was on October 15, 2022. The country's overall death toll has now increased to 5,31,091. According to the data, Delhi reported six deaths, followed by four in Maharashtra, three in Rajasthan, and one each in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. The figure also includes six deaths that were reconciled by Kerala.
Drunk flyer on Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo flight tries to open emergency door flap

The matter was reported to the agencies concerned and appropriate action was initiated. The passenger travelling on flight 6E 308 from Delhi to Bengaluru tried opening the flap of the emergency exit in an inebriated state. On noticing this, the crew on board alerted the captain and the passenger was appropriately cautioned.
Emergency declared at Delhi Airport following a bird-hit incident on cargo flight

Officials said that the step was initiated so that the aircraft could land and technicians could check the plane for any technical glitch before clearance. The flight landed safely and proper inspection was carried out. Sources said that bird-hit incidents are not uncommon, but they pose major technical challenges and can prove to be fatally dangerous.
Delhi reports 153 Covid cases, positivity rate crosses 9%

Meanwhile, the positivity rate of the city has risen to 9.13 per cent. The number of active cases stands at 528 out of which 340 patients are being treated in home isolation. With 96 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries so far has gone to 19,81,680, while Delhi's total caseload is 20,08,732 and the death toll in the city continue at 26,524.
Delhi reports 152 Covid cases, positivity rises nears to 7%

However, no Covid-19 related death has been reported in the same time span. The positivity rate of the city has risen to 6.66 per cent. The number of active cases stands at 424 out of which 250 patients are being treated in home isolation. On rising cases of Covid infection in the city, Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the government is monitoring the situation continuously and an advisory have also been issued.
Omicron sub-lineage continues to be predominant variant, 349 samples of XBB1.16 detected

According to INSACOG data, a total of 349 samples of Omicron sub-variant XBB1.16 have been detected in genome sequencing. Total 349 samples of this variant have been detected in the country in last three months, the data showed. XBB 1.16 was first found in January.
