Court grants interim bail to Satyendar Jain's wife in PMLA case

The Enforcement Directorate has said it has enough evidence to prove that Jain and his family were involved in money laundering and they acquired assets disproportionate to their known sources of income to the tune of Rs 1,62,50,294. Jain who had moved for bail application, withdrew it. He had cited medical grounds in his bail plea.

In a letter to Delhi LG, Honorary Consul General Dr Janice Darbari complained that the Consulate General Office was not getting water supply for the last two days. "The Delhi Jal Board has said that it will send a water tanker, but no action has been taken. The water supply is low and dirty," Dr Darbari complained.

Cricketer-turned-politician mentioned that out of the 58 lakh households consuming electricity, only half (around 30 lakh) utilise less than 200 units which are not charged by power distribution companies directly. As the two-day Monsoon session began on Monday, Justice and Legislative Affairs Minister Kailash Gahlot introduced the five amendment bills to increase the salary and allowances by 66 per cent. Participating in the debate, Deputy Chief Minister Mansish Sisodia, who holds the Finance portfolio, said that Delhi MLAs' salary and allowances are being increased from Rs 54,000 per month to Rs 90,000. However, contrary to the claim, the salary of the capital city legislators is ahead of MLAs in many other states.
Delhi govt to double MLAs' salary, Bill on Monday

The Bill to hike the salary will be introduced on the first day of the special session of Delhi Legislative Assembly to be commenced from July 4 (Monday). Delhi Law and Justice and Legislative Affairs Minister Kailash Gahlot will table the Bill on Monday, said an official. As per a source, the minister will table the Bill seeking a hike of 66 per cent in the salary and allowances of ministers, MLAs, chief whip, Speaker, deputy Speaker and the opposition leader.
Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain admitted to LNJP Hospital

A source said that Jain was taken from the Tihar Jail to the GB Pant Hospital in the morning but later referred to the LNJP Hospital, said the source. He is currently being treated in the hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
