Sculptor Arun Yogiraj to carve Netaji's statue to come up at India Gate

In January 2022, ahead of Bose's 125th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that a grand statue of Bose made of granite will be installed at India Gate. "At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue made of granite will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India's indebtedness to him," Modi had said.

Normal monsoon expected across India, says IMD

A normal monsoon rainfall is within the range of 96 to 104 per cent of the LPA. The IMD introduced the new LPA this April, based on rainfall data from 1971-2020 for the southwest monsoon season, replacing the data from 1961-2010. The LPA is 87 cm or 870 mm. "Quantitatively, the monsoon season (June to September) over the country is likely to be 103 per cent of the LPA with a model error of plus/minus 4 per cent," IMD's Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said.

Karnataka district tense after idols vandalised
