'Poor' air quality days increase in Delhi in 2022

The CPCB calculates the Air Quality Index (AQI) based on multiple inputs, including the PM2.5 and PM10 pollutants. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor'. AQI over 401 is considered 'severe'.
Prithviraj Chauhan vs Muhammad Ghori: From the lens of history

Home Minister reviews security situation in Jammu and Kashmir

The security review meeting came after recent targeted killings in the Kashmir Valley. Last month, Shah had held a meeting to review the preparedness of Amarnath Yatra, and the overall security in Jammu and Kashmir. Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh and senior officials from intelligence and security agencies also attended the meeting.

The court said the public amenities activities carried out by the state government were in larger public interest. A vacation bench comprising Justices B.R. Gavai and Hima Kohli said the petitioners made a hue and cry as if heavens would fall if the petitions were not listed. The bench said: "In the recent past, it is noticed that there is a mushroom growth of public interest litigations. However, in many of such petitions, there is no public interest involved at all. The petitions are either publicity interest litigations or personal interest litigation."
Telemedicine service 'eSanjeevani' integrated with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

The integration allows the existing users of eSanjeevani to easily create an Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) and use it to link and manage their existing health records like prescriptions and lab reports, among others. The users will also be able to share their health records with doctors on eSanjeevani which will help in better clinical decision making and ensuring the continuum of care.
Govt says timely interventions on wheat, sugar export insulated domestic prices from global changes

The government's priority is to ensure sufficient availability of sugar at reasonable rates. The prices of sugar in the domestic market in the last twelve months are under control, the statement said. The wholesale prices of sugar in India are in the range of Rs 3,150 to Rs 3,500 per quintal while the retail prices are in the range of Rs 40-43 per kg in the country.
Rajnath Singh holds talks with Israeli counterpart on defence co-production

Jammu and Kashmir government to post migrant Hindu employees at secured places in Valley

An official said that this was decided in a high-level meeting chaired by Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, and comes in wake of a series of killings of Hindu government employees by militants in the Valley. "Because of the threat perception, the government has decided to post Kashmiri migrant employees working in the Valley under the Prime Minister's rehabilitation package in secured locations in the Valley by June 6.

CM Yogi to lay foundation stone of Ram temple's 'Garbh Griha' in Ayodhya

The Chief Minister will be taking part in a ceremony to lay the foundation stone of the 'Garbh Griha' or the sanctum sanctorum of the temple by placing the first carved stone in it. In a statement issued last week, the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, which is heading the temple's construction, had said white marbles from the Makrana hills of Rajasthan would be used in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
