Stone pelting between two communities in Delhi's Jahangirpuri
The incident triggered panic in the area which already had seen a communal tension during Ram Navmi. According to the sources, two groups had an altercation which snowballed into big brawl. Soon both the sides started pelting stones at each other. CCTV footage of the incident has been accessed by the IANS where people can be seen running and pelting stones at each other.
Varanasi judge receives threat letter; govt beefs up his security
Official sources said on Wednesday that immediately after receiving this letter through a registered post, the civil judge alerted the additional chief secretary (home), director general of police and commissioner of police, Varanasi. Varanasi commissioner of police A. Satish Ganesh said, "After being alerted by the civil judge regarding the letter, which also has many attachments, the deputy commissioner of police (Varuna zone) has been assigned to probe the matter."
Hyderabad car gang rape: All six including MLA's son held
While four accused were already arrested, the police on Tuesday night announced the arrest of two others, including the MLA's son. While five accused, including a major, were involved in penetrative sex with the victim, the sixth, a juvenile and son of a MLA, has been booked for molestation. Four juveniles involved in gang rape include the son of a leader of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), who heads a government body, and a relative of the MIM MLA.
Rules for CDS appointment amended to provide wider pool of candidates
A government notification, issued by the Defence Ministry, says the Central government, in exercise of powers conferred by the appropriate sections of the the Army Act, 1950, the Navy Act, 1957 and the Air Force Act, 1950, makes the following rules further to amend the existing rules of the three services, and they will come into force on the date of their publication in the official gazette.
More than half-a-dozen pleas in SC challenging the Places of Worship Act 1991
A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the constitutional validity of certain sections of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act 1991, which makes a total of eight petitions filed so far against the Act.. Varanasi court reserves order on plea for Shivling worship
District judge in-charge, Anutosh Sharma, a special judge of the Pocso court and filling in for District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha, who is on leave, reserved his order after hearing the submissions of Avimukteshwaranand's counsel Ramesh Upadhyaya. A WhatsApp number has been provided for the people to inform the police if they have any information about the alleged miscreants. The police have assured that the identity of those giving information will not be disclosed. As many as 38 persons have been arrested in connection with the violence, the FIR of which has 1,000 unnamed persons.

After 'death threats' Mumbai Police tighten security for Salman Khan, family
Led by Joint Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nangre-Patil and other officers, the team queried the Khan family on a letter received near their flat in Galaxy Apartments on Sunday, threatening to do a 'Moosewala' with the celeb father-son duo. "I will comment only after getting all the preliminary information in the case," said Nangre-Patil, even as extra security personnel were deployed at the Khans' residence.
