According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), for the 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday, total rainfall recorded at Safdarjung - base station for Delhi - was 14.6 mm, while Palam recorded 16.1 mm. Rainfall at other stations in Delhi included 16 mm at Lodhi Road, 13 mm at Ridge and 18.6 mm at Aya Nagar.

Dinesh Sharma, treasurer of Hindu Mahasabha, has claimed in the plea that the Idgah mosque is built on the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Krishna janmabhoomi. He has asked permission to enter the Shahi Idgah mosque to perform 'Abhishek' (purification) and worship of Lord Krishna at the disputed site of the ancient temple.

Houses collapse in Delhi after heavy rain

In West Delhi's Nihal Vihar area, a house collapsed at around 5 a.m. The persons trapped inside were rescued. A similar incident was reported from the Jyoti Nagar area at around 6 a.m. Two fire engines were dispatched and there were no reports of any injuries. The third incident was reported from the Shankar Road area in Central Delhi, where a rescue operation is ongoing.

No surrender of ration cards ordered, says UP govt

Refuting the "misleading and false reports" circulated in this regard in certain sections of the media, state Food Commissioner Saurav Babu said that ration card verification was a normal process which took place from time to time, and "baseless reports are being circulated regarding surrender of ration card and new eligibility conditions".
