Prashant Kishore begins groundwork for TRS in Telangana
He, along with actor-politician Prakash Raj, visited the Mallanna Sagar reservoir in Siddipet district on Sunday. The visit comes amid speculations that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has hired Kishor to evolve a strategy for next elections. PK, as Kishor is popularly called, also reportedly called on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the latter's farm house in Siddipet district.

Voting begins for 1st phase of Manipur Assembly polls
Men and women with colourful attires in large numbers queued up in front of the polling stations before the voting for 38 of the total of 60 Assembly seats started at 7 a.m. The polling would continue till 4 p.m. A total of 12,09,439 voters, including 6,28,657 females and 175 transgenders, are eligible to cast their votes across 1,721 polling stations in five districts -- Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi.

Election Officials said that a large contingent of Central Armed Police Forces personnel were deployed in all the 38 poll-bound Assembly constituencies while the 9,895 polling personnel have already reached their designated 1,721 polling stations. In the first phase, 12,22,713 voters including 6,29,276 women electorates would decide the fate of 173 candidates, including 15 women.

The Twitter account of BJP chief J.P. Nadda was hacked briefy on Sunday morning. The account, however, was restored later on. The hacker renamed the account as ICJ runs Jagat Prakash Nadda. The hacker separately tweeted seeking donation in crypto currency for Ukraine and Russia.
Battle for UP: Polling begins for 5th phase including Ayodhya, Amethi
The fifth phase will cover 61 Assembly constituencies from 12 districts. The districts going to polls in this phase include Amethi, Raebareli, Sultanpur, Chitrakoot, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Bahraich, Shravasti and Gonda. This phase is crucial for the BJP and Congress.

Although Covid is entering an endemic phase, Moderna Chief Medical Officer Paul Burton said the virus will continue to circulate but at a more static and predictable rate, CNBC reported. "We do believe that we are transitioning into an endemic phase marked by a period of stability in case counts, hospitalisations and deaths at least in the Northern Hemisphere," he was quoted as saying to analysts after the company reported fourth-quarter earnings.
