OROP bridges gap between pension rates of current, past pensioners: Centre

In an affidavit filed by Additional Solicitor General N. Venkataraman, the Centre said: "One Rank One Pension implies that uniform pension be paid to the armed forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of the date of retirement and any future enhancement in the rates of pension to be automatically passed on to the past pensioners."
Delhi's Covid positivity rate falls below 1%, 370 new cases

Meanwhile, the city has reported a marginal decline in fresh Covid infections at 370 cases. According to the Health Department, the number includes 87 cases of last week which were reported on ICMR portal on Sunday. The new cases has pushed the tally to 18,56,517. There were four new Covid deaths have also been reported, taking the death toll to 26,105 in the city.

Terror funding case: Khurram Parvez, others remanded to NIA custody

Special NIA Judge Parveen Singh, also allowed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) the custody of other accused -- Muneer Ahmad Kataria and Arshid Ahmad Tonch for four more days. According to the case, Khurram Parvez who through his organisation called Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) allegedly worked as a Pakistani conduit for close to two decades, aiding in recruiting local Kashmiris as militants and financing them.

Currently in Kerala, if a personal staff member completes two years in service, he is entitled to draw a pension for life, and after his passing away his family is also eligible for the same. The Kerala assembly had passed a bill on this subject in 1994 and ever since the state coffers have been paying pensions to the former staff members of the ministers.
EC restores max number of star campaigners as Covid cases drop

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday restored the maximum number of Star Campaigners for ongoing and future elections as the number of Covid-19 cases dropped substantially. Now, the recognised national and state parties can field a maximum of 40-star campaigners. Other parties which are registered but not recognised can now have 20-star campaigners during the electioneering.
Assam, Arunachal to resolve border disputes this year
