Speaking on the occasion of golden jubilee and 36th statehood day celebrations of the state, Prime Minister Modi congratulated people of the state and lauded them for strengthening their identity as the land of the rising sun over the last 50 years. He praised Arunachal Pradesh for promoting the feeling of patriotism, social harmony and also for preserving the cultural legacy of the country. Paying tributes to the martyrs from Arunachal Pradesh who laid down their lives for the country, Modi said: "Be it the Anglo-Abor war or the security of the border after independence, the tales of valour of the people of Arunachal are a priceless heritage for every Indian."
'Positive outcome for world sports': PM Modi on India hosting IOC session
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led people in making their pleasure known as the news of Mumbai bagging the right to host the IOC session broke out. Battle for UP: Polling begins for third phase
Over 2.15 crore people will decide the fate of 627 candidates. Districts where polling will be held are Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Aurraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur and Mahoba. The third phase of elections is seemingly the most interesting phase of the seven-phase polls.
Polling across 117 assembly seats in Punjab begins
The polling will be conducted till 6 pm and the counting of ballots will take place on March 10. The main contest is among the ruling Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which is contesting the polls in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party after breaking two-decade old ties with the BJP in 2020 over the farm laws. The BJP-Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) alliance is also in the fray, besides the Sanyukt Samaj Morcha, comprising Punjab farmer bodies that had taken part in the agitation against the Centre's now repealed agricultural laws.

NIA arrests its former SP for leaking secret documents to LeT
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested its former Superintendent of Police, Arvind Digvijay Negi for allegedly leaking secret documents to an overground worker of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The NIA spokesperson said that Negi, a police officer who was promoted to the IPS batch of 2011, was arrested in connection with a case registered by the NIA on November 6 last year.
'In perfect health': Odisha CM rubbishes rumours about his condition
