PM Modi lands in Austria after visiting Moscow, begins two-day-long diplomatic sojourn in Austria to engage in deepening bilateral ties and strengthening cooperation on various geopolitical fronts.
This visit is special in many ways, given that no Indian Prime Minister has visited Austria in more than four decades; the last one was by Indira Gandhi in 1983. The official programme includes a meeting with President Alexander Van der Bellen and deliberations with Chancellor Karl Nehammer Wednesday. Right at the top of the schedule will be the meeting between business leaders of the two sides, where Modi will assure the strengthening of economic ties.
Modi welcomed the visit and underlined that the very foundations of both India and Austria lay in democracy, liberty, and rule of law. This formed a very base for further cementing ties between the two countries. Planning to welcome Modi, Chancellor Nehammer said that he was all excited to have the prime minister visit and the visit will be important in celebrating the completion of 75 years of relations between the two nations.
"We have the unique opportunity to further deepen our bilateral relations and work together more intensively on the geopolitical challenges of our time," said Chancellor Nehammer before the meeting.
Modi thanked Chancellor Nehammer for such a warm reception and stated that this visit is historic in nature. He, too, assured that the bonding will be strengthened further, and new avenues of cooperation shall be explored between India and Austria.
"The shared values of democracy, freedom, and respect for the rule of law will be the base for our ever-growing partnership," Modi said.
The visit shall face strong diplomatic relations and then lead further in cooperation with other fields. That is to say that India and Austria are nearer, like-minded nations evolving from each other on the world platform.
