Ex-BJP state president of West Bengal Dilip Ghosh wed fellow party worker Rinku Majumdar in a low-profile wedding ceremony on Friday. Dressed in traditional Bengali wear, including the obligatory topor headgear, Ghosh stood with his bride in front of the media after the ceremony and made a public plea for blessings. Though this is Ghosh's first marriage, it is the second for Majumdar, who has a son from a previous relationship. Known for his distinct style and memorable remarks, Ghosh has been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from a young age, serving in various capacities across India before assuming leadership of the BJP’s West Bengal unit in 2015. His tenure is widely credited with elevating the BJP to the role of the principal opposition party in the state, overtaking the Left. During the course of the day, some key BJP leaders, including the present state chief Sukanta Majumdar, made it a point to visit Ghosh's home to congratulate him. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also wished him good luck, sending him two flower bouquets and a handwritten note. The wedding of the couple was in the traditional Vedic way with only intimate relatives present. Leaders from Trinamool Congress too expressed their felicitations. Ghosh is likely to be at the center of the BJP's preparations for next year's state assembly elections. Let's take a closure of their exclusive pictures:

1. Dilip Ghosh is a politician from West Bengal, India. Dilip Ghosh was born on August 1st, 1964 in Kuliana, Paschim Medinipur. Dilep Ghosh began his political career in 1984 when he became a pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). After, he was the 9th president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, West Bengal from 2015 to 2021. He was also a member of Parliament formed at the Lok Sabha from Medinipur from 2019 to 2024, and, again, a member of the West Bengal's Legislative Assembly from 2016 to 2019. On 18 April 2025 at 60 years old, Dilip Ghosh married on the advice of his mother, Rinku Majumdar, a fellow BJP member.

Hindustan says Rinku Majumdar has been divorced before and has a son working in an IT company in Salt Lake, Kolkata. She was last seen at Eden Gardens,Kolkata on April 3, with rumors of rekindling her relationship with Dilip Ghosh. Sources say that Dilip Ghosh was present at an IPL match at the venue, and that Rinku was also able to speak with Ghosh's mother (Pushpalata Ghosh) persuading her to give the go-ahead for their marriage.

3. On Friday, former BJP state president of West Bengal Dilip Ghosh married BJP party worker Rinku Majumdar in a simple ceremony. The two tied the knot without too much fuss or fanfare because they preferred it and wanted it to be private, which they achieved. There may have been enough media attention on Ghosh in the past because of his public office for them to prefer not having too many media people around. Regardless of reasons, the two were married in a simple way despite Ghosh being a high-profile politician in West Bengal. Ghosh included a few family members, a few closest friends, and a couple of his BJP colleagues to make it meaningful for them.. This was a milestone occasion for Ghosh because he has been a prominent fixture in West Bengal politics for a long time, and this was an important moment to mark a new chapter in his life.

4. Dilip Ghosh, in full Bengali traditional dress including the classic topor headgear, was standing next to his bride Rinku Majumdar as a married couple after their wedding. The newlyweds were respecting tradition and taking photos for the media in a very rare public appearance. Ghosh put his hands together and made a sincere request for blessings, thanking everyone for their well wishes for their new life together. While this was a private wedding, it afforded the couple, and Ghosh in particular, the opportunity to share their joy with all of us and also reflect their heritage as prideful Bengali's as they symbolically moved into a new phase of their life.

5. Dilip Ghosh, 60, the former BJP state president of West Bengal, said he was inspired to marry by an extraordinary sense of fulfillment for his mother's long-cherished want. Irrespective of his political stature, Ghosh indicated marrying was a personal decision, a commitment to begin fulfilling his family's wishes. This is Ghosh's first marriage and it is significant in his life journey. Rinku Majumdar, the bride, was remarried and had a son with her previous husband. The couple's marriage is private, however, their marriage epitomizes a combination of personal and family values. They are of course, on their own new journey together.

6. "I am extremely delighted and proud that he agreed to my offer, even though initially he was not interested," stated 51-year-old Majumdar.

7. As per those around the couple, their relationship started in 2021 when they used to take morning walks regularly at Eco Park and then developed gradually. They allegedly chose to elevate their relationship to the next level while watching an IPL match at Eden Gardens last month. The proposal, sources added, was made by the bride. "I thank everyone for good wishes. I also thank Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who wished me. My personal life will have no impact on my political career," Ghosh said to reporters outside his New Town house near Kolkata.

8. During the course of the day, some key BJP leaders, including the present state chief Sukanta Majumdar, made it a point to visit Ghosh's home to congratulate him. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also wished him good luck, sending him two flower bouquets and a handwritten note. But Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition, did not wish to comment. Asked about the wedding by a local TV channel, he merely replied, "I will not comment on it."

9. The wedding of the couple was in the traditional Vedic way with only intimate relatives present. Ghosh said he will go to Kharagpur on Saturday—a seat he represented in the Lok Sabha from 2019 to 2024—and might go to a political rally in Dumdum, party sources said. Asked where he would go for his honeymoon, he said, "It will happen somewhere in the country." Ghosh is likely to be at the center of the BJP's preparations for next year's state assembly elections.

10. Leaders from Trinamool Congress too expressed their felicitations. TMC's spokesperson Kunal Ghosh took to X and tweeted, "As they always went for early morning walks to Eco Park, because their relationship had started there and eventually flowered into a marriage, and because that picturesque Eco Park owes itself to Mamata Banerjee, chief minister, chief minister's intervention in this marriage cannot be disputed after all.
