Eye on Dalits: BJP celebrates Valmiki, BSP recalls Kanshi Ram

The birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, who is credited for writing the original Ramayana during the lifetime of Lord Ram, is being marked with various events in Uttar Pradesh, including the continuous recital of the Ramayana at all temples of Lord Rama and Hanuman, as well as at all places associated with the epic along with the lighting of lamps this year.
Four UP ministers flout one-man-one-post rule

The four ministers, who are holding ministerial positions along with party posts include Arvind Kumar Sharma, Daya Shankar Singh, J.P.S. Rathore and Narendra Kashyap. Arvind Kumar Sharma is minister for power and urban development and is also holding the post of party vice president in the state. Daya Shankar Singh is also state party vice president and a minister for transport.
Rakesh Tikait decries 'ban' on tractor-trolleys for travelling in UP

Terming the move as 'dictatorial', Tikait claimed that the aim of the decision was to restrain farmers from reaching 'dharna' sites. The BKU would protest against any such ban, he said. It may be recalled that after a tractor-trolley overturned in Kanpur on October 1 claiming 26 lives, the ADG of police (traffic & road safety) in UP.
Mukhtar Ansari ambulance case: Hospital owned by Mau doctor sealed

The Mau-based doctor Alka Rai, who was accused of helping Ansari get an ambulance, along with her bother Sheshnath Rai have been booked under the Gangster Act. Both of them co-own Shyam Sanjeevani hospital in Mau district, which has been sealed, the police added. The vehicle was registered with a fake address in Barabanki district. The Barabanki District Magistrate on September 29 had ordered police officials to seal the hospital.

On October 3 last year, farmers were staging a protest in Tikunia village against a visit of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya when four of them were crushed under the wheels of a convoy of cars. In the subsequent violence, four others including two BJP workers and a journalist were killed.
Yogi to hold roadshows abroad for investors' summit

According to the government spokesman, the chief minister is scheduled to travel to at least four countries in November to lead the UP Global Investor Summit 2023 road shows. As per the tentative programme, Yogi Adityanath will travel to Russia, the US, Mauritius and Thailand. The road shows will pass through 21 cities across 19 countries via nine routes, ahead of the Global Investors' Summit.

BJP questions authenticity of videos tweeted by SP

The videos were apparently shot during the recent monsoon session of the state Assembly that ended last week. The video clips have been tweeted by the Samajwadi Party leaders. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in turn, has questioned the credibility of the SP and pointed out that the authenticity of the videos is yet to be ascertained.
