Survey identifies over 7,000 unrecognised madrasas in UP

The final list of unrecognised madrasas will be released only after the district magistrates submit their reports by November 15. Iftikhar Ahmed Javed, Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrassa Education said that the process to identify the actual numbers will still take time, but we have estimated around 7,500 such madrassas which were surveyed by teams in 75 districts by Thursday evening.

"During Ramlila's presentation, soon after the tail of Hanuman was set afire, Ram Swaroop, who was playing the character, slumped to the ground and died within a minute.

UP revises timings of all madrasas

According to the new time table, the students will attend classes in the madrasas from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., which is an hour more. Teachers and staff will also be on duty for at least six hours. "The madrasa student should not feel inferior when he is moving in the society. He must have good general knowledge, besides knowledge of math, science, English and Hindi along with religious subjects. We want to produce perfect students who can contribute to the development of the country," Javed said.

The Varanasi district court ruled that the case was maintainable in the court of law and rejected the application moved by the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee that the Places of Worship Act (Special Provisions) 1991 is applicable in this case.

Plea filed in Mathura for removal of another mosque

The petitioner has claimed that the mosque was built on a part of the Thakur Keshav Dev Ji temple, on the east side of the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi complex. The suit has been filed by Dinesh Sharma, national treasurer of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), as a devotee of Lord Krishna and as his 'Vaad Mitra' (friend of the suit).

Stone with 'Ram' inscribed on it found floating in UP river

In the viral video from Ahimalpur in Thana Bewar area of Mainpuri, the stone can be seen floating on the water. According to reports, some children had gone fishing in the river on Saturday when they saw the stone floating in the river. The children brought the stone to the village elders. Some of the locals claim that the stone is associated with 'Ram Setu' - the bridge that was built when Lord Rama was heading for war with Ravana in the epic Ramayana.

Furore over kids reciting 'Kalma' in Kanpur school

Parents and some Hindu outfits staged a demonstration and lodged a complaint with the police which then intervened in the matter and asked the Florets school to stop the practice. Established in 2003, the school has been reciting the Gayatri Mantra, Gurubani which is part of Sikhism, and Islamic verse, and other religious verses in the morning assembly.

In a statement issued in this regard, the organisation also asked the Hindu community to boycott the mall. The Hindu outfit has further stated that since the opening of the mall, it has been allegedly said that 'love jihad' is promoted there. It noted that 80 per cent of the employees hired in the mall belonged to the Muslim community while the remaining 20 per cent are Hindu girls so that love jihad can be started.
