'Corona curfew' in UP extended till May 10 morning

As a result, all the restrictions under 'corona curfew' will now continue till 7 a.m. on May 10. Officials, for unexplained reasons, refuse to term this as a lockdown. All shops and establishments will remain closed during this period. The UP government had earlier extended the closure till 7 a.m. on Thursday and made it mandatory for people to carry an e-pass if they needed to step out for essential services during the period.

Yogi govt extends UP lockdown by a day

Weekend lockdowns were earlier imposed from Friday 8 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m. to curb the spread of the virus. The state government has extended the weekend lockdown to include Monday. The lockdown will now remain in force in the state from Friday 8 p.m. to Tuesday 7 a.m., said a government spokesman.

UP Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma hospitalised due to Covid

Sharma was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday late evening while his wife, who had also tested positive was hospitalized earlier. Sharma informed about his hospitalization in a tweet. "A few days ago, I tested positive for COVID-19. After consultation with doctors, I was in home isolation. For better treatment, I have been hospitalized," he tweeted in Hindi.

Second Oxygen Express brings relief to UP

Two of the four tankers to have arrived on the Indian Railways' second Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) service, immediately left for Jhansi and Bareilly (one tanker for each destination) while the remaining two were stationed in Lucknow to meet the increased oxygen demand in the state capital.
