Owaisi's remarks came after Bhagwat expressed concerns over the population imbalance. AIMIM's undiminished sway over Hyderabad makes it irreplaceable in Telangana
No matter which party was in power in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, the support base of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) remained intact. There has been no change after Telangana was carved out as a separate state in 2014. Despite the reservations the Asaduddin Owaisi-led party had over the division of Andhra Pradesh, the party adapted itself to the new political scenario dominated by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). This friendship and the secular image of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao helped TRS secure the support of Muslim voters.
Owaisi slams Centre over targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits
His remarks came after terrorists killed a Kashmiri Pandit and injured his brother in J&K's Shopian district on Tuesday. Owaisi alleged that the BJP-appointed L-G in J&K has proved to be unsuccessful, adding that removal of Article 370 did not help, as the Centre has failed to provide security to Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi termed the arrest highly condemnable. "He's been arrested with no notice & in some unknown FIR. Total violation of due process," tweeted Owaisi. Owaisi: A threat to the Constitution, BJP's Hindutva project weakening India
The Hyderabad MP believes that from mob lynching to the legislation to ban triple talaq and from attempts to change religious character of mosques to use of bulldozers to raze the houses of Muslims in states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh all show that the BJP and RSS have been working to implement their agenda.
Hate speech FIR to pacify BJP supporters, says Owaisi
After registration of FIR he said, "I've received an excerpt of the FIR. This is the first FIR I've seen that's not specifying what the crime is. Imagine an FIR about a murder where cops don't mention the weapon or that the victim bled to death. I don't know which specific remarks of mine have attracted the FIR."
Owaisi to make inroads in Gujarat via Surat
Owaisi has received a good response in Limbayat, however a small section of the community opposed his visit to the constituency by showing black flags while he was on his way to address a gathering on Monday. The AIMIM leader has advocated for political weightage and representation for Muslims in the state "as like Patidars, Muslims in the state too share 14 per cent of the state's population".
Follow 1991 Act or risk another Babri Masjid-type situation, says Owaisi
The MP from Hyderabad faulted the order of the lower court saying it violates The Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 and was passed without hearing the Muslim side. With the issue of Shahi Idgah Masjid at Mathura and disputes at other places being raised during the last few days, he believes that only strict adherence to the 1991 Act will prevent fresh controversies.
Textbook repeat of Dec 1949 in Babri Masjid: Owaisi on Gyanvapi row
"This is a textbook repeat of December 1949 in Babri Masjid. This order itself changes the religious nature of the Masjid. This is a violation of 1991 Act. This was my apprehension and it has come true. Gyanvapi Masjid was, and will remain a Masjid till judgement day, Inshallah," Owaisi tweeted.
