Owaisi Urges Election Commission Vigilance Amid Alleged Threats Post Mukhtar Ansari's Visit

Owaisi's visit to Ansari's residence in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, was to extend his condolences after Ansari's passing due to a cardiac arrest at a hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28.

Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of AIMIM, expressed his concern on Friday regarding the purportedly threatening social media posts directed at him following his recent visit to the family of Mukhtar Ansari, a notable figure in both politics and gang-related activities.

Owaisi's visit to Ansari's residence in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, was to extend his condolences after Ansari's passing due to a cardiac arrest at a hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28.

Speaking to reporters, Owaisi remarked, "... those who are openly making such threats, we hope that the Election Commission monitors that and sees."

Responding to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's reported comments emphasizing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as a priority if the NDA government were to return to power, Owaisi linked the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) with the National Population Register (NPR) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

He asserted, "The meaning of CAA, NPR, NRC is to make the poor, Dalits, and especially minority Muslims stateless within the country. That is their purpose. The purpose of bringing CAA is NPR, NRC. That has been proved."
