After the 'puja' and 'havan', the Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the historic 'Sengol' from the Adheenams' seers and then installed it inside the new Parliament building near the Lok Sabha Speaker's Chair. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla accompanied the Prime Minister.

These meetings are being held in over 30 different work-streams comprising Sherpa Track Working Groups, Finance Track work streams, Ministerial meetings and Engagement Groups. The dates and venues of G20 official meetings are periodically updated on the G20 website , Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan told.

A bench headed by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud told advocate Ashwini Upadhyay, one of the petitioners, "This falls in the legislative domain. Mr Upadhyay... it is for legislative intervention and it is for the Parliament to do..." The bench, also comprising justices P.S. Narasimha and J.B. Pardiwala, added, "How can we say Parliament shall pass such laws."

As per the Commission's schedule, the by-polls will be held on December 5 and the results will be declared on December 8. The Assembly seats are Padampur (Odisha), Sardarshahar (Rajasthan), Kurhani (Bihar), Bhanupratappur (Chhattisgarh) and Rampur (Uttar Pradesh).

The Congress MPs carried out a protest march from Parliament House to the Rashtrapati Bhavan in wake of questioning of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and no discussion of important issues like price rise in Parliament.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the central hall of Parliament at 10.15 a.m. where Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana will administer the oath of office to her. The oath taking will be followed by a 21-gun salute. Before the ceremony, the outgoing President and the President-elect will arrive in Parliament in a ceremonial procession.
