Winter Session of Parliament from December 7 to 29

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi had earlier tweeted, ""Winter Session 2022 of Parliament will commence from 7 December & continue till 29th December having 17 sittings spread over 23 days. Amid Amrit Kaal, looking forward to discussions on Legislative Business & other items during the session. Looking forward for constructive debate." The 258th session of the Rajya Sabha will have 17 sittings spread over 23 days.
Something may happen in next Parliament session, AG to SC on pleas against sedition law

The AG submitted before a bench headed by Chief Justice U.U. Lalit that something may happen in the winter session of the Parliament and there is no need to worry about the interim order in place. He requested additional time be granted to the Centre so that appropriate steps may be taken.
Parliament adjourned sine die four days before schedule

The session, which began on July 18, was slated to go on till August 12. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, before adjourning the ninth session of the 17th LS sine die, said that the house met for 16 days wherein seven bills were passed. Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the Upper House sine die, stating that detailed statistics of the session will be circulated during the course by the Secretariat.
Opposition protests in Parliament against 'misuse' of probe agencies by Centre

Opposition members led by the Congress in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha protested against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids and summons against Opposition leaders. The Lok Sabha proceedings were first adjourned until 2 p.m. and then adjourned for the day after opposition members continued loud sloganeering over the misuse of the ED against political rivals.

When Trinamool's Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar was speaking on price rise, Moitra, sitting beside her, was caught on camera moving her bag from the seat next to her to near her feet under the table. Reports suggest that it was a Louis Vuitton bag priced at more than Rs 1.5 lakh. The video of Moitra hiding her bag went viral on social media with many netizens asking as to how could a Trinamool MP cornering the government over the issue of price rise carry such an expensive handbag.

During the Monsoon Session so far, the Lok Sabha has worked approximately 16 hours and the Rajya Sabha 11 hours, however the Houses were scheduled to work for six hours daily. During the face-off, four Lok Sabha members and 23 Rajya Sabha members were suspended and in the last two days of the past week, the government was up against the Opposition on the remark against the President issue.
