New Parliament building likely to be inaugurated by May-end

Sources further said that the inauguration may tentatively take place on May 26, as it is the date on which Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath in 2014, though it is yet to be confirmed. The PM is expected to inaugurate the new structure. However, sources said that the forthcoming Monsoon session, which is scheduled to begin in July, is not likely to be held in the new building.

The Budget Session of Parliament is scheduled to end on Thursday. The march will be followed by a joint press conference by the floor leaders of the parties at the Constitution Club.Since the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha met after recess for the second part of the Budget session, Parliament could not function properly and even the Finance Bill was passed without any discussions.

Sources said that the Prime Minister spent more than an hour inside the new building, during which he inspected various works. According to the sources, during his surprise visit, the Prime Minister also inspected the facilities being installed in both the Houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha).

The plea, filed by advocate Deepak Prakash on behalf of Aabha Muralidharan, prayed that automatic disqualification under Section 8 (3) of the Representation of People Act (RPA), 1951, should be declared as ultra vires of the Constitution, for being arbitrary, illegal and violative of fundamental right to equality.
Rahul says he isn't Savarkar, won't apologise
