Sources explain that JD(S) is demanding five parliamentary seats out of 28 and BJP is negotiating for four seats. The JD(S) insisted for Hassan, Mandya, Kolar, Tumakuru and Bengaluru Rural seats. Hassan was represented by Deve Gowda’s grandson Prajwal Revanna.

In view of the same, the BJP convened a meeting of 39 constituents of NDA in Delhi under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 18 and asked everyone to be active in view of the Lok Sabha elections.

BJP government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji does not want to run the House as per the Constitution.” He said that the rules, regulations are being sidelined and they are threatening every member.

During his speech, Chowdhury compared the Prime Minister to Nirav Modi as well as mythical blind king Dhritarashtra, while alluding to sexual violence against women in Manipur.

Speaking on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said that many members have expressed their thoughts and "I have also heard the speeches of few of the members".

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had informed the House on Wednesday that the prime minister will reply to the motion on August 10. The discussion on the motion, which began on August 8, after being initiated by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, has seen some high-voltage speeches from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Smriti Irani and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani on Wednesday without naming Rahul Gandhi alleged that he misbehaved and "only a misogynistic man can gesture a flying kiss to female parliamentarians."
