Iran summons Ukraine's envoy over presidential aide's tweet about Isfahan drone attack
The Iranian Foreign Minister handed an official note to the Ukrainian envoy, calling on the Ukrainian government to provide official and immediate explanations about the presidential aide's remarks, according to the Ministry's website on Monday. Following the Saturday attack by "three quadcopters" on the Isfahan-based military plant, which the Iranian Defence Ministry said was "successfully repelled," Mykhailo Podolyak, senior adviser to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, tweeted on Sunday that "explosive night in Iran -- drone and missile production, oil refineries. Ukraine did warn you".

According to Johnson, Putin threatened to target him personally with a missile attack in a phone call just before the invasion. The conversation reportedly took place on February 24 as Johnson and other Western leaders were rushing to Kyiv to show support for Ukraine and deter a Russian attack.
No fighter jets for Ukraine, says German Chancellor Scholz
Scholz said his focus was on the delivery of German-made Leopard 2 tanks. "The fact we've only just made a decision (on sending tanks) and the next debate is firing up in Germany, that just seems frivolous," he said in an interview with German newspaper Tagesspiegel, the BBC reported. In wake of pressure from other allies, Germany agreed to supply 14 tanks to Ukraine, and the US said it would provide its M1 Abrams tanks.
US foreign arms sales increase significantly in fiscal 2022 due to military support for Ukraine
The total value of State Department-authorised government-to-government foreign military sales was $51.9 billion in fiscal 2022, the 12-month period ending September 30, 2022, up 49.1 per cent from the previous fiscal year's $34.8 billion, the data showed. The so-called direct commercial sales, or sales of weapons and military equipment to foreign governments by US defence contractors, also ticked up in fiscal 2022.

'Doomsday Clock' set at 90 seconds to midnight amid Ukraine crisis
The Doomsday Clock's time is set by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' Science and Security Board with the support of the Bulletin's Board of Sponsors, which includes 10 Nobel Laureates. The new Clock time is the closest to midnight since it was established in 1947. Previously, the Doomsday Clock had been set at 100 seconds to midnight since 2020.
'Poland would request authorisation from Germany to send tanks to Ukraine'
The Prime Minister's remarks came a day after German Foreign Minister Anna Baerbock said on Sunday that she "would not stand in the way" of Poland if it were to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, adding that Warsaw was yet to ask for export permission. "For the moment the question has not been asked, but if we were asked we would not stand in the way," she told France's LCI TV.
EU grants 500 mn euros more military aid to Ukraine
Training for the country's military worth 45 million euros has also been agreed, EU foreign chief Josep Borrell was quoted by Xinhua news agency as saying. "This is the seventh package of military aid for Ukraine," Borrell told a press conference after the EU foreign ministers' meeting.
