Lalu Prasad, along with his eldest daughter Misa Bharti, arrived at Patna airport at 7 pm, and went to his wife Rabri Devi's official residence at 10 Circular Road. He also met party leaders including his son Tej Pratap Yadav, Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav, Abdul Bari Siddiqui and other leaders at the residence.

The CBI has conducted raids on Friday morning in connection with the matter at 16 locations. The probe agency has registered a case against Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Prasad, then Union Railway Minister, his wife Rabri Devi, two daughters, and 15 others.

The scam involved taking land from unemployed youths on the pretext of providing them government jobs. A CBI source said that a fresh case was recently lodged against Lalu and others for accepting bribes from unemployed youths and cheating them on the pretext of providing them jobs in the government sector.

"It is extremely unfortunate... wrongful things going on in the country. It is just like breaking the country. Why are you going near the mosques to read Hanuman Chalisa? If you want to read Hanuman Chalisa, read it in the temples. They (BJP and RSS) are trying to instigate people of a particular community to react to it so that they could do riots. RJD youth leader Ramraj Yadav accused Lalu Prasad's elder son of beating him during Iftar party, held at the official residence of his mother and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Friday. Tej Pratap Yadav claimed that he has always respected the members of the party, but accused a section of leaders of "conspiring" against him.

Ranchi High Court judge Apresh Kumar Singh granted the bail 42 weeks after Lalu's conviction in the Doranda case. The special CBI court had convicted the RJD chief on February 21 and awarded five years jail term. Since then, four hearings have taken place in the court for his bail. During the last hearing, the court had asked CBI to clear its objection on why should Lalu Prasad should not be given a bail.

Bhai Virendra, the RJD MLA from Maner and chief spokesperson of the party said: "It is a well-planned conspiracy against our leader Lalu Prasad Yadav for discharging him from the emergency ward and refusing to admit him in the hospital for further treatment." "Our leader is suffering from multiple illnesses and the medical board of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Ranchi has referred him for treatment in AIIMS Delhi.
