Pak national among 5 terrorists killed in two separate gunfights in J&K

Four Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the Naira area in South Kashmir's Pulwama district while one Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was killed in another encounter in the Chrar-i-sharief area in Central Kashmir's Budgam district.

A search operation is currently underway at the Naira area, the police said, adding that arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.
Policeman killed in militant firing in J&K's Anantnag

Police sources said head constable, Ali Mohammad was fired upon by militants at Hassapora area in Anantnag, leaving him critically injured. "He was shifted to the government medical college hospital in Anantnag were doctors declared him dead on arrival," a source said, adding: "The area has been cordoned off." On Friday, a policeman had escaped unhurt when militants fired at him in the Batmaloo are of Srinagar city.
Delimitation has started, elections soon in J&K: Amit Shah

Speaking at the virtual launch of the district good governance index in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said, "Delimitation has started and elections will soon be held." He reiterated that he has given assurance in the Lok Sabha that as soon as the situation becomes normal in Jammu and Kashmir, statehood will be given back. He slammed some leaders for spreading false propaganda and alleged that they are doing so for their own political benefits.
Kashmiris cannot be weaned away from Sufism

The problem was that Jinnah never tried to understand centuries old influences that moulded the Kashmiri character and produced unique Sufism influenced by Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. Had Jinnah tried to understand, he would have understood the logic in Sheikh Abdullah's rejection of the two-nation theory. Shrines in Srinagar are regularly venerated by Hindu and Muslim devotees alike. In other words, the influence of Sufism makes them one. Both pray the same way.
Lashkar, Al-Badr terrorists planning to sneak into J&K via PoK, Intel agencies warn

The sources, quoting intelligence inputs, said that at least seven militants of LeT and five of Al Badra are trying to cross over to Jammu and Kashmir from two different areas located in PoK. The intelligence alert has specifically said that from one place in PoK, the LeT ultras will be trying to infiltrate with help of a launch pad commander, while the five Al Badr terrorists are located near a launch pad in Balakot, who are being escorted by a local guide to infiltrate from the Bhimber Gali side in Poonch district of J&K.

Six terrorist associates arrested in J&K

"During checking, it was noticed that three persons coming from Gund Brath village towards Bomai village were roaming in suspicious conditions, and were subsequently asked to stop, but they tried to flee. However, they were apprehended by the vigilant security forces," a police officer said. The arrested individuals have been identified as Arafat Majeed Dar, Tauseef Ahmed Dar, and Momin Nazir Khan.

In December last year the J&K Government signed a MoU with University College Birmingham (UCB) Dubai to explore potential progression opportunities through institutional partnership with vocational colleges and universities in Kashmir.
