Infiltration bid on Jammu and Kashmir LoC foiled, one terrorist killed

The Defence sources said, "An unidentified terrorist was killed by the Army's 3/9 GR during an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector of the LoC in Kupwara district today." Sources said the operation was still going on in the area. Further details were awaited.
India rejects resolution passed in Pakistan National Assembly on 'delimitation' exercise in Jammu and Kashmir

Responding to the media queries, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said: "We categorically reject the farcical resolution passed by the National Assembly of Pakistan on the subject of the delimitation exercise in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir."
India slams OIC for remark on delimitation exercise in J&K

In response to media queries on this issue, the spokesman of the Ministry of the External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi, said, "We are dismayed that the OIC Secretariat has once again made unwarranted comments on the internal affairs of India." On numerous occasions, India had categorically rejected the assertions made by the OIC Secretariat on the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral and inalienable part of India, Bagchi said.

Earlier J&K had 83 constituencies but it will be 90, if the recommendation made by the delimitation commission is accepted. . The commission presented its report a day before its dissolution. The commission changed names of some constituencies and shifted a few Tehsils and Patwar Halqas from one segment to another, and recommended nomination of two Kashmiri migrants.
17 Kashmiri youths, who returned from Pakistan, killed in counter-terror operation

Some of them had received weapon training, they added. These students had gone to Pakistan for higher studies and returned with terror training. According to the sources, at least 17 were trained by the terror outfits on the behest of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and became the part of the sleeper cells active in J&K.

The MEA's response came after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had termed Modi's recent visit to Jammu as "staged". "I do not understand the word 'staged' that Shehbaz Sharif used. Everyone knows about the changes in J&K. It means they are trying to present a view that the visit did not take place. Pakistan has no locus standi on Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan commenting on this matter is wrong," MEA spokesperson Arndam Bagchi said.

'2 terrorists killed in J&K were trying to revive terror folds'

The terrorists, identified as Muzaffar Sofi of Ansar Gazwatul Hind (AGuH) and Umer Teli of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in Tral area of Awantipora. Both were involved in many terror crimes, and active in Srinagar before shifting to Tral in Pulwama. The police said that based on a specific input generated by Ganderbal police regarding the presence of terrorists in Tral area, a raid was conducted by Awantipora police.
SPO killed, brother injured in terrorist attack in J&K

As per the police, SPO Ishfaq Ahmad Dar was injured in firing by militants at Chatabugh village in Budgam district on Saturday evening. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. "Umar Ahmad Dar, the brother of the slain SPO, is being treated at the Bemina hospital in Srinagar. Search operations have been launched to nab the assailants," sources said.
