OMCs hold petrol, diesel price revision even as global crude rates rise

The oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Thursday kept pump prices of auto fuels -- petrol and diesel -- unchanged, the eleventh consecutive day of no revision, as they preferred to watch the global oil situation before making any revision in prices. Accordingly, the price of petrol and diesel remains unchanged at Rs 101.19 and Rs 88.62 per litre in Delhi, as per Indian Oil Corporation, the country's largest fuel retailer.

Petrol, diesel prices unchanged for a week now

In the national capital, petrol was sold for Rs 101.19 per litre on Sunday. Similarly, price of the fuel in the other key metros of Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata stood unchanged at Rs 107.26, Rs 98.96, Rs 101.62 per litre, respectively. Diesel prices also were unchanged for the seventh consecutive day across the four metro cities.
OMCs continue to hold fuel price revision for 6th day

In tandem with petrol price, diesel rates also remained unchanged. In Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, the fuel was sold for Rs 88.62, Rs 96.19, Rs 93.26 and Rs 91.71 per litre, respectively. Retail prices remained unchanged as global oil prices continued to rise. The benchmark Brent futures are currently near the $73-per-barrel-mark backed by the continued supply concerns in the US post Hurricane Ida.

Petrol price cut by 15 paise in Delhi after 3-day hiatus

In the national capital, petrol price was cut by 15 paise to Rs 101.19 per litre, from the previous level of Rs 101.34 per litre. Similarly, petrol prices in the other key cities of Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata were reduced to Rs 107.26, Rs 98.96 and Rs 101.62 a litre, respectively, down from the previous levels of Rs 107.39, Rs 99.08 and Rs 101.72 a litre.
No revision in petrol, diesel prices on Thursday

In Mumbai, the petrol price is stable at Rs 107.39 per litre on Thursday while diesel rates also remain unchanged at Rs 96.33 a litre. Across the country as well the petrol and diesel prices remained static on Thursday but their retail rates varied depending on the level of local taxes in a particular state.
