JD(S) Takes Action Against Deve Gowda's Grandson Amid Sex Scandal Controversy: Statement by Kumaraswamy

Speaking to the media in Shivamogga, Kumaraswamy insisted that the Congress was seeking to blow up the issue by making statements about the issue.

In the light of this continuing controversy, former Chief Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy has made the statement. He admitted that the JD(S) party had ordered the suspension of his nephew, Prajwal Revanna, on the basis of the sex scandal that came out in his parliamentary constituency of Hassan.

Speaking to the media in Shivamogga, Kumaraswamy insisted that the Congress was seeking to blow up the issue by making statements about the issue.

He quoted, "The decision has already been made and will be deliberated upon in the upcoming core committee meeting in Hubballi, with an announcement expected on Tuesday."

Kumaraswamy further stated that he had discussed the matter with his father, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, and that the decision to expel Revanna had been finalized on Sunday night. He emphasized that there was nothing family-related about the issue as it was a personal issue.

"The focus should be on holding the guilty accountable," Kumaraswamy said. He pointed out that he would have intervened to prevent embarrassment if he had known what Revanna was doing. He further demanded an inquiry into those who released the alleged sex videos, underlining the requirement for accountability and audit into the source of the scandal.

On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar attacked the BJP for lack of clarity on the issue. He demanded that the BJP and NDA clearly state its position on the Prajwal Revanna matter as the Congress was not linked with the scandal. Shivakumar emphasized that while the Congress had nothing to do with the scandal, the BJP, as the coalition partner of JD(S), was responsible for sorting out the matter with clarity.
