With the latest increase, petrol is available at a record high of Rs 86.05 a litre in Delhi and diesel at Rs 76.23 a litre. Fuel prices increased sharply elsewhere in the country as well, but the retail hike varied from state to state due to quantum of taxes levied on petroleum products there.

Accordingly, the pump price of petrol remained at Rs 85.70 a litre in Delhi while diesel prices in the capital was unchanged at Rs 75.88 a litre. Across the country as well the fuel prices maintained the same price line. So, petrol is priced at Rs 92.28 a litre in Mumbai, Rs 88.29 a litre in Chennai and Rs 87.11 a litre in Kolkata.

In the national capital, petrol was priced at Rs 85.70 per litre. In Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, petrol was sold at Rs 92.28, Rs 88.29 and Rs 87.11 per litre, respectively. Although the pump prices of fuels were unchanged on Sunday, they have been elevated for long and have been touching new highs of late.

Accordingly, petrol continues to be sold at Rs 85.20 a litre in Delhi while diesel prices also remained same at Rs 75.38 a litre. Across the country as well the pump price of petrol and diesel remained unchanged on Thursday. Petrol and diesel prices had risen sharply by 25 paise per litre each on Monday and Tuesday before the OMCs decided to give relief to consumers from frequent price rise.

The excise duty collection during the first eight months of the current financial year was over Rs 1.96 lakh crore, compared to over Rs 1.32 lakh crore collected during April-November FY20, official data showed. The collection in November 2020 was highest so far in the financial year 2020-21 at Rs 35,703 crore. In November 2019, excise duty collection stood at Rs 18,948 crore.

Accordingly, in the national capital, petrol continued to be sold at the new record high level of Rs 84.70 a litre while diesel prices remained at Rs 74.88 per litre. Across the country as well pump price of petrol and diesel remained static on Friday.

Petroleum Secretary Tarun Kapoor told IANS that the ministry was taking approvals for segregating the existing gas pipeline infrastructure to identify the portion of the infrastructure that will need to support common carriers.

In the national capital, petrol was sold at the new record high level of Rs 84.45 from the previous days of Rs 84.20 a litre while diesel price increased to Rs 74.63 per litre as against Rs 74.38 a litre earlier.

Accordingly, petrol prices in Delhi remained unchanged at Rs 84.20 a litre while diesel prices maintained its price line of Rs 74.38 a litre in the national capital on Friday. Elsewhere in the country as well fuel prices remained at Thursday's level.

Accordingly, petrol prices in Delhi increased by 23 paise a litre on Thursday, the second successive day of fuel price rise, to Rs 84.20 a litre from Rs 83.97 on the previous day. This is the highest level of retail price of petrol in the national capital after October 4, 2018 when its price had risen to Rs 84 a litre.
