Unwarranted & unsubstantiated imputations on serious matter: Critiquing US Media Report on Pannun Plot Case

India responded on Tuesday to a report released by a US media outlet, denouncing it for making baseless allegations regarding a significant issue involving an alleged conspiracy to assassinate Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.

Randhir Jaiswal, the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, emphasized, "The report in question contains unfounded and unverified accusations on a matter of grave importance."

Jaiswal added, "An ongoing investigation carried out by the High-Level Committee set up by the Government of India is vigorously working to put to rest the concerns of security shared by the US government, pertaining to networks of organized criminals, terrorists, and other elements."

This statement came in response to a report in the Washington Post, which had claimed that a Research and Analysis Wing officer, Vikram Yadav, had reportedly hired a contracted hit team to assassinate the US-based separatist leader.
