Consumers relieved as fuel prices remain static for the 14th day in a row

The pump price of petrol in the national capital Delhi on Thursday remained steady at Rs 103.97 a litre and diesel prices at Rs 86.67 a litre. The fuel prices had last gone down when the Central government had reduced the excise duties on Diwali eve, November 4.

Accordingly, petrol and diesel prices remained static for the 12th consecutive day on Tuesday under the daily price revision mechanism followed by oil marketing companies. So, the pump price of petrol in Delhi, which fell to Rs 103.97 a litre at 6 a.m. on the Diwali day on November 4 from previous days' level of Rs 110.04 a litre, remained at the same level on Tuesday. The diesel prices also remained unchanged in the capital at Rs 86.67 a litre.

The fuel price has not changed for the 8th consecutive day under the daily price revision mechanism followed by oil marketing companies. So, the petrol price in Delhi remain steady on Friday, which fell to Rs 103.97 per litre, at 6 A.M. last week on Thursday from the previous days level of Rs 110.04 a litre, remained at the same level on Friday. Whereas the diesel prize remain unchanged at Rs 86.67 a litre in Delhi. 
Fuel prices hold for a week despite firm global oil rates

The diesel prices also remained unchanged in the capital at Rs 86.67 a litre. In the financial capital Mumbai, petrol continued to be priced at Rs 109.98 a litre and diesel Rs 94.14 a litre. Prices also remained static on Wednesday in Kolkata where the price of petrol reduced by Rs 5.82 to Rs 104.67 per litre and that of diesel by Rs 11.77 to Rs 89.79 per litre last week.

Raj govt likely to reduce VAT on petrol, diesel

Many state governments have reduced the VAT after the initiative taken by the Central government. In a meeting organised in Jodhpur's Jaleli Faujdar village on Tuesday, Gehlot said, "When all the states have reduced the prices of petrol and diesel, then we will also have to reduce them." Earlier, Gehlot remained adamant saying that this slash would affect the income of the state.
