Kavitha, a member of Telangana Legislative Council and daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been named as one of the members of 'South Group'. According to the remand report, businessman Vijay Nair, who has already been arrested in the case, received kickbacks of Rs 100 crore on behalf of AAP leaders from a group, called 'South Group'.

The YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) leader herself was driving the car and proceeding towards Pragathi Bhavan as a mark of protest against the attack by ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). When Sharmila along with her supporters reached near the Yashoda Hospital on Raj Bhavan Road, the police stopped them. The YSRTP workers raised slogans against the ruling party. As they tried to proceed towards the chief minister's residence, police detained them.

Police stopped Sharmila's padyatra and arrested her and YSRTP leaders and workers accompanying her in Chennaraopeta mandal. YSRTP cadres tried to resist the arrests and raised slogans against the police and the TRS government. The police used mild force to control the situation.

The police stopped Sanjay on way to Bhainsa on Sunday night and sent him back to Karimnagar as the permission was denied for his march due to apprehension of breach of peace. Large number of police personnel were deployed around Sanjay's house to prevent him from heading towards the town.

Reacting strongly to certain remarks made by him, Kavitha said Arvind had stooped to a new low. "What do you think of yourself? If you make baseless comments again, I will slap you with chappal in Nizamabad crossroads," she warned Arvind, who represents Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency.

Kavitha, a member of the Telangana Legislative Council, told reporters that "friends" of the BJP approached her with the proposal. The 'Shinde model' is a reference to the revolt in Shiv Sena in Maharashtra led by Eknath Shinde, who later became the Chief Minister.

The protests were organised in Hyderabad and Peddapalli district against Centre's "discrimination" towards Telangana and its "failure" to fulfill commitments made to the state. CPI national secretary K. Narayana was among those arrested in Hyderabad. Dressed in black and raising slogans of 'Modi go back', the protesters staged a demonstration.

He stated this while addressing BJP workers at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad soon after his arrival to inaugurate fertilizer plant at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district. "I want to assure the people of Telangana that those who looted the poor will not be spared," he said while calling on people to end corrupt and family rule in the state.
