Court Allows iPhone 'Throttling' Class-Action Lawsuit to Proceed Against Apple

Last year, consumer rights advocate Justin Gutmann filed the lawsuit, contending that Apple had installed inadequate batteries in several iPhone models, including the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, and 7 Plus.
Govt to investigate 'state sponsored attack notifications', Vaishnaw asks Apple to join probe
In a series of posts on X, Vaishnaw said, “We are concerned by the statements we have seen in the media from some MPs as well as others about a notification received by them from Apple. The notification received by them as per media reports mentions ‘state-sponsored attacks’ on their devices.”
Amid state sponsored attack row on IPhones, Apple says may be false alarm
The IPhone maker, in a statement, said: "State-sponsored attackers are very well-funded and sophisticated, and their attacks evolve over time". "Detecting such attacks relies on threat intelligence signals that are often imperfect and incomplete. It's possible that some Apple threat notifications may be false alarms, or that some attacks are not detected," it said.
Apple introduces new MacBook Pro lineup with M3 chips
Customers can order the new MacBook Pro and the device will arrive at Apple Store locations and authorised resellers, starting November 7, the company said in a statement. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 starts at Rs 169,900 and Rs 158,900 for education. 
Apple issues fix to address vulnerability in iOS privacy
The feature in iOS 14 would prevent nearby wireless routers and access points from gathering an Apple device’s unique MAC address, reports TechCrunch. A device’s MAC addresses can be used for tracking. The tech giant has fixed the vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2023-42846, with the release of iOS 17.1 and iOS 16.7.2 for older devices that can run iOS 16. 
Apple releases iOS 17.2, adds new option for Action button
In September, Apple promised that there would be a Translate option for the Action button, but it wouldn't be available with the launch, according to MacRumors. The new option works when the Action button is set as Translate, and holding the button will bring up a Translate window that listens for spoken text.

Apple TV+, Arcade, News+ subscription prices up, no increase for Indian users
The tech giant increased the price of Apple TV+ to $9.99 per month, up from the previous $6.99.  Apple’s gaming service Arcade’s price has gone up from $4.99 to $6.99, and the News+ monthly price has been increased to $12.99. The Apple One Individual bundle is now priced at $19.95/month, Apple One Family costs $25.95/month, and Premier costs $37.95/month.
