The analysts said, "The Pro Max variant achieved the top position for the first time in Apple’s non-seasonal quarter, reflecting an increasing trend of consumer preference for high-end smartphones."

They added, "All four iPhone 15 variants and the iPhone 14 were among the top 10 bestsellers. Further, the iPhone 15 line-up secured the top three spots."

On Samsung's side, the Galaxy S24 series took two positions in the Q1 top 10, with the Ultra model occupying the fifth position, and the base model occupying the ninth.

According to the analysts, the good performance of the S24 series could be attributed to the prompt refresh of the series by Samsung and the addition of generative AI technology.

"S24 series debuted in the market with state-of-the-art GenAI features and capabilities, enabling users to create unique content and enjoy a better level of smartphone usage," the analysts emphasized.

Unfortunately, this quarter turned out to be the biggest milestone, as all the top 10 smartphones supported 5G.

The analysts predict that the top 10 best-selling smartphones will occupy a higher percentage of total smartphone sales in the coming months, and OEMs will focus on more streamlined lineups with plenty of high-end features, including GenAI.
