'File intervention application', SC to petitioners challenging provisions of Places of Worship Act

A bench of Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and J.B. Pardiwala said: "We grant liberty to intervene in the two pending petitions." A total of six petitioners have moved the top court challenging certain provisions of the Act. During the hearing, the bench said the petitioners could supplement the grounds of challenge in the pending petitions.

Navy to induct indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to boost maritime security

Designed by the Indian Navy's Directorate of Naval Design (DND) and built by CSL, a public sector shipyard under the Ministry of Shipping (MoS), the aircraft carrier is named after India's first aircraft carrier, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Vikrant, which played an important role in 1971.
Mig-21 trainer aircraft crashes in Rajasthan, both pilots killed

The aircraft met with an accident near Barmer at 9.10 p.m. and both pilots sustained fatal injuries, the Indian Air Force (IAF) said in a tweet. The IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families, it said, adding that a court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
WBSSC scam: Partha Chatterjee removed from all three ministerial posts

The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet at the state Secretariat, Nabanna that lasted for little less than 15 minutes. Soon after the meeting, Chief Secretary, H.K. Dwivedi issued a notification on the removal of Chatterjee, who held the portfolios of Commerce and Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, and Information Technology and Electronics.

A lawyer mentioned a matter in connection with violence against the Christian community before a bench headed by Justice Chandrachud. The lawyer urged the top court to urgently list the matter. Justice Chandrachud said he had come across some news reports saying that the apex court is delaying the hearing on the matter and added since he had Covid, the matter could not be taken up for hearing.
