Twitter says whole business will close due to account blocking orders, Karnataka HC issues notice to Centre

The single division bench headed by Justice Krishna S. Dixit gave the order after the arguments by senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Twitter, explained that if the blocking order continues, the whole business of Twitter will close. For the accounts to be blocked, as per rules reasons have to be recorded and given to the microblogging platform which is not being done.

Chandrachud and A.S. Bopanna said arrest is not meant to be and must not be used as a punitive tool because it results in one of the gravest possible consequences emanating from criminal law: the loss of personal liberty. The bench added that the criminal law and its processes ought not to be instrumentalised as a tool of harassment.
Sonia Gandhi to join ED probe today, security heightened

Sonia Gandhi will reach the ED office at Pravartan Bhawan, APJ Abdul Kalam Road, by 11 a.m. Paramilitary forces have been deployed in and around the probe agency's headquarters, as well as additional police teams. The police is also checking every vehicle and inquiring everyone heading towards the APJ Abdul Kalam Road. On July 21, Sonia Gandhi was questioned for hours by the ED. She was initially summoned to appear again on July 25 but it was changed to July 26 at her request.
