ISRO to fly new rocket SSLV on Aug 7
According to the ISRO, the rocket SSLV-D1 (Developmental Flight 1) will blast off from the launch pad at Sriharikota at 9.18 a.m. The rocket with a maximum luggage carrying capacity of 500 kg will be carrying an earth observation satellite-02 (EOS-02) formerly known as Microsatellite-2A weighing about 142 kg. The satellite will carry an infrared camera with six metre resolution.
ED arrests Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in Patra Chawl scam case
The ED had sent several summons to the Sena leader which he skipped, following which he has been arrested. Earlier, a month back he had even dared the ED to arrest him. Raut will be presented before the Mumbai court on Monday morning. The ED had earlier sent Pune businessman Avinash Bhosale into custody in DHFL-Yes Bank case, and the sources claimed that they wanted to grill Raut in this matter too.

The government, for the second consecutive time, decided to go ahead with an inter-cadre appointment to choose Sanjay Arora as the new Commissioner of Delhi Police. Arora, a 1988-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer, will succeed Rakesh Asthana, a Gujarat cadre IPS officer, whose tenure was set to end on Sunday.
ED detains Sena MP Sanjay Raut in Patra Chawl land scam
Sanjay Raut will be taken to the ED office later on Sunday evening for further action, including the strong probability of arrest, on alleged grounds of 'non-cooperation' with the probe.The MP's brother MLA Sunil Raut told a private news channel that the ED could not locate certain documents pertaining to the Patra Chawl case, leading to Sanjay Raut's detention and he would be taken to the ED offices.

ED sources said that now they are trying to track the two-way money trail in these bank accounts, the first being the source from where such huge amounts were transferred to these accounts and the second being the channels where such funds were transferred in due course.
EC lays down the law: Not having Aadhar no ground for electoral roll exclusion
A time-bound drive is being started from August 1, for collection of Aadhaar number of the existing electors. For linking of Aadhaar number with electoral roll data, provision has been made in the modified registration forms to seek Aadhaar details of electors. A new Form-6B has also been introduced for collecting Aadhaar number of existing electors.
Ahead of SC hearing, ED swoops on Sena MP Sanjay Raut
A team of ED along with a posse of police and Central security agency landed at Raut's Bhandup residence at dawn as part of the investigations into the Patra Chawl land scam case.� Raut tweeted: "Shiv Sena zindabad. Will keep fighting", even as scores of his supporters staged a sit-in protest outside his home.
Terrorist killed, 2 army jawans, cop injured in Baramulla encounter
Acting on specific information generated by police regarding presence of a terrorist in village Wanigam Bala in Kreeri area of Baramulla, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by police, army and the SSB. As the joint search party approached towards the spot where the terrorist was hiding, he began firing indiscriminately which was retaliated. "In the initial exchange of fire, two soldiers and a police personnel received injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment where their condition is stable," police said.
