Students can now pursue two degrees simultaneously: UGC

“As announced in the NEP 2020 and in order to allow students to acquire multiple skills, UGC is coming up with new guidelines to allow a candidate to pursue two-degree programmes in physical mode simultaneously. The degrees can either be pursued from the same or different universities,” said M Jagadish Kumar, chairperson, UGC on Tuesday.

The second term of the board examination will be held in a single shift at @10:30 am. The class 10th examination will be concluded on May 24 and for class 12th the exam will continue till June 15. Term I examinations for board exam classes were held in November-December, 2021. The results were announced on March 12, 2022. This is the first time that board examinations will be held in two sessions.
AICTE urges institutions to consider admitting Indian students returned from Ukraine

AICTE has written a letter to technical educational institutions while keeping in mind the future of these students. In the letter, the council has said, "Around 20,000 Indian students have returned to the country from war-torn Ukraine, where they were studying medicine and engineering at various universities in Ukraine. These students who returned from Ukraine are in deep despair."
Direct Admission to Ph.D. program after your 4-year UG degree

"This decision by UGC would reduce the number of years spent in the higher education ecosystem. The minimum period for completing a Ph.D. degree has also been reduced from three-to-six years. However, the maximum years for completing a Ph.D. remains unchanged at six years ', said RP Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Punjab.

After the CUET results are announced there will be an online counselling round. In each round of counselling, students will be given a fresh to refill their preferences for university/colleges. There is a high chance that there will be three rounds of counselling. The last one will be spot rounds.

The duration of the entrance examination will be 3 hours and 20 minutes(200 minutes). The paper will comprise 200 multiple choice questions from physics, chemistry, and biology. There will be four options provided for each question. For every correct answer, there will be a +4 marking in the question and a negative marking of -1 for every incorrect answer. The paper will be held in offline mode. The candidates will be given the option to choose among 13 languages to attempt the paper.

Earlier session-1 was scheduled to be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29, and May 1 and 4. The session-2 for the entrance was 24,25,26,27,28 anf 29 May 2022.  NTA notification released on its official site stated, "National Testing Agency has decided to reschedule the dates of JEE (Main) – 2022 Session 1 and Session 2 based on the numerous representations received from the candidates.
Jindal Global Law School ranks 70th globally, No. 1 in India

The improvement in Jindal Global Law School's global ranking marks a continuity in its ascent for the past several years. Before making it to the global top 70 in 2022, JGLS was ranked 76th in 2021, and in the 101-150 bracket in 2020. Its domestic ranking as the No.1 law school in India has, however, remained unchanged for the past three years.
Sociology textbook 'hailing' dowry - Publisher yanks out all copies from market

The "Textbook of Sociology for Nurses", penned by senior author T. K. Indrani propounded the theory that the much-abhorred system of dowry was actually good for society and argued that it helps parents of "ugly looking girls" to get them married off. The "gems of social wisdom" are visible in its Chapter 6, Pg. 122, justifying how the main cause of accepting dowry by the groom's parents is that they have to, in turn, give dowry to their daughters and sisters (outgoing).
