Delhi University is all set to start the examinations in offline mode for the ongoing semester. Earlier the odd semester exams were held in OBE mode to relax students after resuming physical classes. DU students appearing for semester exams will now have to appear for physical mode examinations.

The students will be given an extrapolation time of 30 minutes to appear in the examination along with the additional choice in questions to ease the stress level of students resuming the physical mode after two years. This provision is a one-time measure just to get them back to their traditional mode of learning.
In an interview with Education Times, DS Rawat, dean (exams), DU, says, "Students had raised their concerns to us that a pandemic forced them to take online exams which had reduced their writing speed."
He further added that 'students' degrees will lose value if they do not write offline exams. After college, they will have to appear for competitive exams which will be held in offline mode only".

Providing extra 30 minutes of time to students will make them useful to the earlier method of learning in the pre-pandemic era.
DU's offline classes were resumed in February and the odd semester was held in online mode exams but from now on the DU has decided to go fully physical including exams.
