IIM-Lucknow to study CRPF jawans' stress issues, find solutions

IIM-L will also suggest measures to overcome the stress levels so that they may discharge their duties more efficiently. The CRPF has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU,) with IIM-L in this regard over the weekend. The MoU was signed by CRPF Director General A.P. Maheshwari and IIM Lucknow Director Prof. Archana Shukla.
Kavach: IIT Delhi's fight against Covid-19

IIT Delhi director Professor V. Ramgopal Rao told IANS, "We have made a quality mask similar to the N95 based on indigenous technology. This N95 mask can be made available across the country for just Rs 40." According to IIT Delhi, the mask made by the institution has left the N95 made in foreign countries behind in terms of quality. The mask made by IIT Delhi has been certified better in several world class tests.
India, World Bank sign $500m pact to improve school education ​​​​​​​

Some 250 million students (between the age of 6 and 17) in 1.5 million schools and over 10 million teachers will benefit from the programme. The STARS programme builds on the long partnership between India and the World Bank (since 1994), for strengthening public school education and to support the country's goal of providing 'Education for All'.
8-year-old Indian boy in Johns Hopkins 'brightest students in the world' list

Hopkins said Misra, a student at PS 59 Beekman Hill International Elementary School, was honoured for "exceptional performance on the SAT, ACT, or similar assessment" taken by 15,000 students in grades two through eight as part of CTY's Talent Search program. Test scores are based on above-grade level testing.
Extra UPSC bid: SC says Centre's response lacks decision-making level

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), in an affidavit, told the apex court that civil services aspirants who have exhausted all their attempts in the exams held in October last year, should not be given an extra attempt. A bench headed by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar expressed its dissatisfaction at the affidavit not having any information at which this decision has been taken by the government.

The findings, published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, indicated that while adults prioritised what they see, young children showed an auditory dominance and overwhelmingly prioritised what they could hear.
Uttar Pradesh to get its first sports university in Meerut

A government spokesman said the university will help athletes in getting training, thereby making them ready for national and international level competitions. The sports university will be built at an approximate cost of Rs 700 crores and will come up in the Salawa village in Sardhana tehsil of Meerut district. The cost of the project will be borne by the state government.
Facebook to let researchers access election advertisement data from February 1

On February 1, the 'US 2020 Election Spend Tracker' data currently available in the Ad Library will be moved to the Elections page, where the information will remain available for download.
India's new education policy to travel across the world

Initiatives have also been taken to take the new Education Policy to the Gulf countries. The Union Ministry of Education has informed the UAE Minister of Education Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi about this through the bilateral virtual dialogue. Hammadi has also praised the National Education Policy 2020.
