The Supreme Court gave this interim order on Monday while holding a joint hearing on the SLP filed by the Vidya Bhavan Society, the Managing Committee of Sawai Mansingh Vidyalaya, Gandhi Seva Sadan and the Society of Catholic Education Institutions which challenged the Fee-Regulation Act 2016.
Supreme Court lowers NEET 2020 cut off for BDS courses by 10 percentile

The top court directed that candidates belonging to the general category who have secured 40 percentile shall be eligible to be considered for admission in the first year BDS course for the year 2020-2021. "Likewise, students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories shall be qualified if they have secured 30 percentile", added the bench.
Nursery school admissions in Delhi to be conducted online

However, in government schools the admission process would be conducted both via online and offline modes. Apart from nursery admission, admissions for other classes in government and private schools would also be started soon. A meeting has also been held between Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the principals and management committees of various private schools.
Ad-hoc teachers form backbone of teaching in Delhi University departments, colleges

In many colleges, ad-hoc teachers account for around 70 per cent of the faculty. As per DU data for 57 colleges, over 3,500 ad-hoc teachers are working there. The issue of ad-hoc teachers was raised in the Rajya Sabha, wherein college- and year-wise details were sought from the Ministry of Education.

The bench said that a college in which the petitioner, MBBS student Anchal Parihar, is studying is yet to be recognised under the said Section and hence her migration cannot be permitted contrary to regulations. The Rajasthan High Court had allowed Parihar's plea for migration from Ananta Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre at Rajsamand to Dr SN Medical College, Jodhpur.

CBSE announces datesheet for class 10, 12 Board exams

According to the datesheet, exams for some of the main subjects for class 10 will begin with the English exam on May 6, followed by Hindi on May 10, Urdu on May 11, Science on May 15, Home Science on May 20 , Maths on May 21 and Social Science on May 27.
UGC NET exams to begin from May 2

The National Eligibility Test (NET) will be conducted by the NTA on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the grant of Junior Research Fellowships and also determine the eligibility for the posts of Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said.
