Prophet comment row: Protest outside Jama Masjid in Delhi

The people gathered on the stairs, just outside the Jama Masjid, here, holding placards against the former BJP spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal. The protest was staged soon after the Friday prayers. The protesters were demanding immediate arrest of the suspended BJP leaders. Pertinent to mention here that an FIR was also lodged against Nupur Sharma and several others for their alleged hate remarks during a debate on a TV news channel.
Curfew continues in Jammu and Kashmir's Bhaderwah town, Internet suspended

Police said two FIRs have been registered against two groups of people for trying to stoke communal passions in the town. Trouble erupted in Bhaderwah town on Thursday after some miscreants posted purported announcements from a local mosque which triggered tension between the two communities.

Meanwhile, a Red Corner Notice (RCN) has been issued against Canada-based gangster Satinderjeet Singh alias Goldy Brar wanted in the killing of Moosewala. The Central Bureau of Investigation had on June 2 written a request letter to the Interpol to issue a RCN against Goldy Brar. According to the information, Brar went to Canada on a student visa and didn't return after that.
Twist in temple restoration plea as 'royal family member' claims Qutub Minar

Considering the intervention application, Additional District Judge Dinesh Kumar deferred the pronouncement of the verdict for August 24 on the appeal seeking the restoration of the Hindu and Jain temples and the deities at the Qutub Minar complex. The intervention plea was moved through Advocate M.L. Sharma by Kunwar Mahendra Dhwaj Prasad Singh claiming to be heir of the united province of Agra and he sought the rights over territories from Meerut to Agra.
Bihar man carries away son's body on bike after ambulance refused

Anjal died due to electrocution at Vidhyapati Chowk on Wednesday. The family members took him to Sadar hospital in the hope that he might be saved, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. When Mandal requested the doctors to provide an ambulance, they refused and asked him to take the dead body on his own. There were some private hospitals but they demanded Rs 2,000 to convey the dead body till home.
Red Corner Notice issued against Goldy Brar in Moosewala murder case

The Central Bureau of Investigation had, on June 2, written a request lettet to the Interpol to issue a RCN against Goldy Brar. According to the information, Brar went to Canada on a student visa and didn't return after that. "He killed his cousin Gurlal Brar and entered in the crime world," said a CBI official.

PUC classes commence in Karnataka, uniform compulsory

Due to the controversy in connection with wearing hijab in classrooms, the state Education Department had made uniform compulsory from the beginning of the academic year. Students attended classes in uniform and no incident of defiance was reported from the state. According to the academic calendar released by the Department of Public Instruction, the colleges will begin on Thursday.
Over 90 vehicles gutted in Delhi parking fire

The official informed that they received a call about the fire incident around 5.00 a.m. at the Main Tikona Park, Jamia Nagar in South-East Delhi after which as many as 11 fire tenders were immediately pressed into service. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. "The fire has damaged in 10 cars, 1 motorcycle, 2 scooties, 30 new e-rickshaw, 50 old e-rickshaw in a metro parking," Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg said.
