Drugs case: Siddhanth Kapoor released on bail

Along with four others, Siddhanth Kapoor, who is also an actor, was released late Monday night by the Halasuru police in the state capital. The police said that he has been asked to appear for inquiry on Tuesday at 11 a.m. A case has been registered under IPC Sections 20 A, 22 B, 27 B.
PM to chair 'First National Conference of Chief Secretaries' in Dharamshala on June 16-17

The conference will be held at HPCA stadium in Dharamshala and will be a significant step towards further strengthening the partnership between the Centre and the state governments. Delhi reports 614 fresh Covid cases, positivity rate crosses 7%

With 495 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has gone to 18,84,630. The number of patients being treated in home isolation stands at 1,825. With new Covid cases, the total caseload of the city has jumped to 19,13,412 while the death toll continues at 26,221.

Karnataka police arrest actor Shakti Kapoor's son in drugs case

According to police, he was arrested while partying at a five-star hotel in the limits of Halasuru police station on Sunday. The police, after getting a lead, conducted a surprise raid and took 35 persons into custody. A 25-member police team had conducted raids and took Siddhanth Kapoor, also an actor, and others into custody, according to preliminary investigations.
1,477 techies turn cops in UP

This is the first time when so many candidates from technical background have been selected in the police force. Significantly, 125 selected candidates are BCA degree holders, while 43 have done BBA. In its biggest drive to recruit sub-inspectors and officers of equivalent ranks, the state government has selected 9,534 candidates, of which 1,477 are techies.

Prophet row: Two arrested over Jama Masjid protest

The accused, identified as Mohd Nadeem (43) and Faheem (37), both residents of Delhi, were arrested late Saturday. DCP (Central) Shweta Chauhan said a case was registered on June 10 under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code against the protesters. However, the police has now added section 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) to the FIR.
Varanasi seers seek lockdown of violence-linked mosques

The seers have condemned the violence that broke out after the Friday prayers across the country. Mahant Balak Das of Patalpuri Math, said: "Such acts of jihadis are not acceptable and will not be tolerated. We strongly condemn the threat to Nupur Sharma and appeal to the government to immediately put a check on jihadis. "We are following the path of Lord Ram. We are peace-seekers. The violence that is being unleashed is unacceptable. The government should take immediate steps to stop this."
Minors found to lead violent protests in UP

According to a senior police official , majority of the protesters in Kanpur, Prayagraj, Saharanpur and Moradabad are minors. ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar admitted that minors have been found to be actively involved in violence after the weekend violence. Moradabad SP Hemant Kutiyal said police have invoked relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act against 50 unidentified minors.
