Delhi liquor stores partially reopen, bars begin service

Delhi government has extended private liquor vends' licenses for a month to make the transition from private shops to government ones smoother. However, all liquor shops did not open and lesser people were seen outside some of these vends which opened in early hours in different parts of the capital. Meanwhile, the bars and restaurants served the liquor in Tuesday.
Stone with 'Ram' inscribed on it found floating in UP river

In the viral video from Ahimalpur in Thana Bewar area of Mainpuri, the stone can be seen floating on the water. According to reports, some children had gone fishing in the river on Saturday when they saw the stone floating in the river. The children brought the stone to the village elders. Some of the locals claim that the stone is associated with 'Ram Setu' - the bridge that was built when Lord Rama was heading for war with Ravana in the epic Ramayana.

Furore over kids reciting 'Kalma' in Kanpur school

Parents and some Hindu outfits staged a demonstration and lodged a complaint with the police which then intervened in the matter and asked the Florets school to stop the practice. Established in 2003, the school has been reciting the Gayatri Mantra, Gurubani which is part of Sikhism, and Islamic verse, and other religious verses in the morning assembly.

On May 1, Taneja's tweet had led to a lot of discussions and debates on social media. It said: "Hinduism is a science based way of life. On 3 Dec 1984, two families remained unaffected from Bhopal gas leak. They performed regular (hawan), which is a natural anidote to pollution." Later, a Mint journalist retweeted this taggging some global brands and questioning their association with him. On May 8, the article on Mint titled "Shouldn't brands stop supporting sordid influencers?", made allegations of misogyny, child abuse and pet abuse against Tanjeja, by referring to his videos.
After Delhi, excise policy of Punjab's AAP government under judicial scanner

However, the government claims the policy is aimed at keeping a stringent check on the smuggling of liquor from neighbouring states and is expecting revenue generation of Rs 9,647.85 crore, a spike of about Rs 2,600 crore from the previous fiscal year. The new policy, approved by the cabinet last month, is applicable for nine months till March 31, 2023.
Terrorist killed in Baramulla encounter

Earlier a joint team of police and security forces received an input about the presence of terrorists in the Wanigam Bala area. As the security forces cordoned off the area, terrorists hiding there started firing triggering the gunfight. There have been a series of encounters between terrorists and security forces across Kashmir over the last few months. Many terrorists and their commanders have been killed.
WBSSC scam: Agitating candidates refuse to withdraw stir

Banerjee failed to get any assurance from the delegation that the indefinite stir on this issue will be withdrawn immediately. After the meeting, the delegation leader, S. Shahidullah said that they had a discussion with Abhishek Banerjee and the current state education minister, Bratya Basu. However, neither Abhishek Banerjee nor Bratya Basu made any comment to the media persons after the meeting.
