The anticipated deal for the release of hostages in Gaza, contingent on a temporary truce, has encountered a delay as Israel's National Security Advisor confirmed its postponement until at least Friday.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed Parliament, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and stating, "We're taking this extraordinarily seriously."

The specifics of whether the warning prompted the plotters to abandon their plan or if the FBI intervened to foil an ongoing scheme remain undisclosed.

Mexico remains the largest contributor, accounting for 39 percent of the unauthorized immigrant population with around 4.1 million individuals, followed by El Salvador (800,000), India (725,000), and Guatemala (700,000).

This development follows the approval by the Israeli cabinet of an agreement with Hamas to release 50 hostages held in Gaza since the October 7 attack.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear during a late-night Cabinet meeting on Tuesday that the country will not cease its military operations.

Haniyeh’s remarks came after Hamas communicated its desire for the truce to mediators in Qatar. “The movement delivered its response to the brothers in Qatar and the mediators, and we are close to reaching a truce agreement,” Haniyeh said. 

Garcetti emphasized the burgeoning defense ties, encompassing not only the sale and co-development of weapons but also a closer operational collaboration between the militaries.
