Israel is hesitant about the PA assuming authority in Gaza, expressing concerns over the potential resurgence of Hamas, according to media reports.

In a Hebrew statement posted on X, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) clarified that it had merely "responded to the request of the director of Shifa Hospital to allow Gazan citizens, who were taking shelter in the hospital and wished to evacuate, to do so via a secure axis leading to the humanitarian crossing in the Gaza Strip."

Israel's Channel 12 News in a bulletin on Friday night claimed to have obtained a copy of the initial police report on the incident. Although the report itself was not presented, some of its findings were disclosed. According to the Channel 12 News, 17 of the victims were police officers, and 40 festival attendees were reportedly kidnapped by Hamas and taken to Gaza.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, involved an unidentified suspect who entered the hospital and shot an unnamed individual, according to statements from Director of the New Hampshire State Police Col. Mark Hall.
